BETA TESTERS WANTED
After a lot of thinking and deep-down soul searching I have decided
that it's time for a new version to be released. After all, we've
been in version 3.xx for over a year now and there haven't been too
many major changes or features added.
Scanner Buff! (tm) has become the standard for other programs to
emulate. This is not a statement that I created, but one that is
supported by nationwide mail echos and letters that I have
received from users. In order for it to remain this way I NEED
your direct input. PLEASE take the time to return the form and
register as a beta tester! I don't care if you are an
unregistered user of a prior version(s), so don't let this stop
you from submitting your comments. I NEED to hear from users that
regularly use this type of software and know what they want.
If you are intersted in this challenege, please fill out the short
form below and send it to me right away. Please be sure to answer
all of the questions, especially the manner in which I may contact
you!

What is the best time to reach you?
What version(s) of Scanner Buff! have you been using?
Should Scanner Buff! incorporate mouse support even though it is a
data-intensive, text-based program?
If so, should pull-down menus be used, or is the existing structure
more than adequate?
What features should be available for registered users only, if any?
Should there be a maximum number of records set for unregistered
users, such as 100? 200?
What features should be added?
What features should be removed?
What features should be modified and how?
The current Shareware price is $25.00, and I know that this is low,
but what should it be? (I think that a small increase is fair to cover
increased costs in distribution.)
Did you know that there is a BBS door version available and were you
aware that data is fully compatible between programs?
Does your favorite BBS use it?
Would they like to, and if so, what is their BBS phone number?
Although the .MDF files are fully dBase (tm) compatible already, should
the associated .IDX index files be dBase (tm) compatible also, even if
it means slightly slower access time (negligible, really)?
Have you had trouble with printing reports to disk or PRN using Scanner
Buff! (tm)?
If so, what version of DOS are you using? Disk caching software? TSR's?
All previous versions did not account for single sheet feed for printers;
is it really needed? How about printer control codes?
What are your overall comments regarding Scanner Buff! ?
